The first rule of compounding is to never interrupt it unnecessarily.

Most people understand compounding in the context of money. $1 growing at 10% becomes $1.10, then $1.21, then $1.33. Small at first. Exponential over time. The math is intuitive.

What most people miss: compounding applies to everything. Skills, reputation, content, relationships, knowledge. Every tweet, every visual, every lesson, every shipped product — each one builds on the last.

Publish one piece of content per week. In a year you have 52. In five years you have 260. Each piece is findable, shareable, linkable. The 260th piece benefits from the audience the first 259 built. The first piece benefits from the SEO authority the other 259 provide. Everything reinforces everything.

This is why consistency beats intensity. A thousand hours spread over three years compounds. A thousand hours in one burst doesn't. The spacing creates connections. The connections create the exponential.

"Publishing is investing." Every piece of public work is a deposit into an account that compounds. The returns aren't immediate. They show up months or years later, when someone finds your work and it opens a door you didn't know existed.

The hardest part isn't starting. It's not stopping. Every time you break the chain, you reset the exponent. The people who win are the ones who showed up when it wasn't working yet.
